During May 2010, Metcalfe Legal Practitioners changed its name to Metcalfe Attorneys as a result of the split up of the Partnership at the time. Mr Metcalfe has been involved in a number of high profile matters in which outstanding results have been obtained for clients.
Mr Florian Beukes became partner in the Firm on 1 June 2015. As from 1 January 2020, the Firm’s name was changed to Metcalfe Beukes Attorneys and continues to practice as ‘Lawyers with Bite’.

Metcalfe Attorneys provides general legal services over a broad spectrum which is accentuated by the qualifications and the diverse backgrounds, experiences and skills possessed by the various legal practitioners at Metcalfe Attorneys.
It should, nevertheless, be noted that special emphasis is placed on commercial work, more particularly on labour law, company law, competition law, intellectual property law, international trade law, banking law, administrative law, local government law, family law, property law, the law of contract and criminal law.
As a result of the public’s perception of the quality of the professional service rendered at Metcalfe Attorneys, the firm has achieved one of the highest public profiles in Namibia. It currently has a client base of over 3 500 clients, which includes multi-national companies, corporations, individuals and local authority councils and municipalities.
Areas of Practice and fee structure
Our corporate fee ranges from N$ 1000.00 – N$ 2 500.00 per hour depending on the nature and complexity of the work and seniority of the legal practitioner. This fee excludes VAT, the cost of counsel and all disbursements (such as telephone, fax, email, postage and petties etc).
Disbursements are billed in accordance with the Law Society of Namibia fee guidelines.Prior to engaging counsel, fee estimates are obtained and these are approved by the client prior to such engagement.

MR RICHARD METCALFE
Mr Metcalfe is an admitted Advocate of the High Court of South Africa where his services are regularly used in high profile criminal matters as a consultant. Due to time constraints he has ceased direct representation of clients in South Africa. He however regularly attends to corporate matters in South Africa.
Mr Metcalfe’s international credentials extend to the extent that he was approached to become the Honourary Consul of the Czech Republic in 2000. After due diligence by the security apparatus of both Namibia and the Czech Republic he accepted the appointment as Honourary Consul of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Namibia. He served in such position from 2001 to 2005 when he resigned as a result of work pressure.
Mr Metcalfe in his zeal to develop young legal practitioners and ensure growth of the legal professional, promoted Mr Beukes to Managing Partner of the Windhoek Office, effective as from 1 June 2015.
MR FLORIAN BEUKES
Mr Beukes holds a B-Juris and Bachelors of Law degree (Honors) from the University of Namibia. Mr Beukes also obtained a Management Development Certificate from the University of Stellenbosch He specialises in Corporate and Commercial Law as well as competition law, employment law and civil litigation. Mr Beukes has more than seven years corporate experience hence he was previously employed as legal consultant at Trustco Insurance Ltd (Legal Shield), as group legal officer at United Africa Group (Pty) Ltd and as a legal advisor/company secretary at Namibia Airports Company Ltd.
Mr Beukes passed his Legal Practitioners Qualifying examinations, CUM LAUDE as the best student and is a published author in the 2012 Namibian Law Journal issue. Mr Beukes did his articles with Metcalfe Attorneys and has been in the firm’s employment since 2013. He regularly provides legal services to high profile corporate clients and litigates in various complex civil litigious matters.
